My journey in the world of communication and English language skills coaching for global business people has been deeply influenced by my own language learning experiences, especially my venture into learning Japanese. Learning a language as intricate as Japanese was a challenge, but it also opened a door to a new world. Each day, as I grasped a new phrase or understood a cultural nuance, I felt the power of how small adjustments in communication can lead to remarkable connections and opportunities. What I find most captivating about my niche now is the opportunity to relate to my clients on a personal level. Just as I once struggled to express myself in Japanese, I understand the hurdles they face in the global business arena. Thank you Marie! When it was decided that I would be transferred from Japan to California, I was very anxious because I had no experience studying abroad and had little experience learning English. I started taking online lessons with Marie soon after I arrived. She first listened to my concerns and wishes regarding English, and then suggested a completely custom-made program. In my case, the classes were discussion-style based on news articles and I was also able to improve my daily conversation skills. At the beginning of my assignment, I was not very good at English, but by having classes that suited me, my resistance to English gradually disappeared, and after a year of taking the course, I was able to work in English without difficulty. I met Marie through an online language class provided by my company, and even though the company-sponsored classes ended, she is still my communication skills coach as I and my wife take English lessons with her privately.
